This is another in the series of tracks which reflect the mood of Mescaline Catechism. It’s the track “More Than Rain”, from Tom Waits’ album “Frank’s Wild Years”. Pretty much any track from that album, or from SwordFishTrombones, would do, too, of course.

I used to think that, once the American Empire is long gone, two things will be remembered of it: the moon landing, and Tom Waits.

…Ah, how could I have forgotten this: “Blow Wind Blow”, from the same album! This beautiful clip is from his film Big Time. I can’t believe I deliberately neglected an opportunity to see this live. Youthful arrogance!
